27th June 2025 on date visited the Chorao ferry point, where a ferry has remained submerged in the Mandovi River for the last five days — a glaring and dangerous symbol of this government’s complete failure to act in the interest of public safety.
What is shocking — and deeply disturbing — is that no work order or contract has been issued by the River Navigation Department (RND) to remove the sunken vessel even after five days. This is not just negligence — it is clear evidence of how the corrupt BJP government continues to function without process, paperwork, or responsibility.
While @DrPramodPSawant and the BJP have all the time and state machinery to organise publicity events and PR stunts, they are missing in action when it comes to addressing real issues that impact the everyday lives of Goans.
This incident proves that for the BJP, public safety is not a priority. Accountability is non-existent. What is thriving under this regime is corruption, carelessness, and complete administrative breakdown.
The Congress Party demands immediate action:
• Why hasn’t the RND acted for five days?
• Who is responsible for this lapse?
• What steps are being taken to ensure safe and timely ferry operations across Goa?
We demand that the Chief Minister and the RND Minister come clean on this issue and stop playing with the lives of the people.
Under the BJP, Goa is sinking — not just its ferries, but its governance, systems, and dignity.
