Porvorim, Goa | 14 August 2025 โ At a press conference held today at Azad Maida panaji Goa , a woman from Porvorim made a harrowing revelation about a brutal gang rape that occurred on the night of 4th August 2025. She alleged that six unknown men forcibly entered her home, sexually assaulted her, removed her clothes, and inflicted burn injuries on her body.
According to the victim, after the assault, the accused abandoned her without clothes along the NH-66 near Bastora, leaving her in a severely injured and vulnerable state.
The victim told reporters that despite the gravity of the crime, Goa Police have not registered her FIR even after 10 days. She accused the police of discriminating against her and focusing their investigation on her rather than tracking down the perpetrators.
โPolice are treating me differently and questioning me instead of arresting the accused. Those six men are still roaming free,โ the victim stated during the press meet.
The fact that the alleged attackers remain free has sparked outrage, with calls for immediate intervention not only from state authorities but also from interstate law enforcement to ensure that the accused are apprehended quickly.
Womenโs rights groups, citizens, and activists are demanding:
- Immediate registration of the FIR
- Arrest of all accused individuals
- Independent inquiry into police handling of the case
- Victim protection, medical care, and counseling
The case has highlighted glaring gaps in the handling of sexual assault cases and raised serious questions about the sensitivity and urgency of police response. The victimโs testimony at the press conference has intensified public calls for swift justice and accountability.
