Panaji, October 14, 2025 , The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa today slammed the state government for its delayed and reactionary response on Goa’s crumbling road infrastructure, following the government’s announcement of new road repair tenders. Addressing a press conference, AAP Organisation Secretary Shrikrishna Parab and AAP Vice President Chetan Kamat said that the move comes only after relentless public pressure through the #BJPCheBurak campaign, in which over 1 lakh Goans submitted letters demanding action on pothole-ridden roads.
AAP Organisation Secretary Shrikrishna Parab said:
“This is a shameless government. For months, people of Goa have been risking their lives on dangerous, broken roads. Yet only after we submitted letters from 1 lakh Goans under the BJPCheBurak campaign has this government finally awakened and issued 40+ tenders. The kind of work they carried out in the name of pre-monsoon preparation was pathetic, and such shoddy work will not be allowed again.”
Parab added that the government’s handling of basic road maintenance exposed its complete lack of planning and competence.
“Only now, after tenders have been floated, has the government realised they need functioning hot-mix plants for road repairs. Goa has never seen such an incompetent and careless government. They do not act out of responsibility, but only when people force them to.”
AAP Leader Chetan Kamat echoed this sentiment, warning the government against empty announcements.
“The Chief Minister gave a 15-day assurance to repair roads. If we don’t see results on the ground, AAP will again hit the streets and force the government to act,” Kamat said.
The Aam Aadmi Party reaffirmed that it will continue to monitor the progress of road repairs and hold the government accountable for every commitment made to the people of Goa. “Goans deserve safe roads, not excuses. AAP will not stop until every pothole is repaired and every rupee spent is accounted for,” Parab concluded.
