Margao, 26 June MLA Cruz Silva of Velim has launched a campaign in his constituency aimed at addressing eye problems and restoring vision to the people. As part of this initiative, several individuals have undergone cataract surgeries and have regained their vision. In response, they have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to MLA Cruz Silva.
With the support of ASG Eye Hospital, MLA Cruz Silva organized free eye check-ups and cataract surgeries for the people of the Velim constituency. The campaign was started with the goal of resolving eye issues, improving vision, and restoring sight to those affected by cataracts. The initiative has received a very positive response from the public, who are also expressing their appreciation for this beneficial effort.
Residents of the Velim Assembly Constituency — Justin Fernandes, Sunil Fernandes, N. Fernandes, and Sebestian Fernandes — shared that they were experiencing vision problems and were unable to see clearly. After getting their eyes examined at the health center in the MLA’s office, they were diagnosed with cataracts. They were then referred to the hospital for surgery, where the cataracts were successfully removed and their vision was restored. They expressed their sincere thanks to MLA Cruz Silva for his support and efforts in making this possible.

In the past five months, cataract surgeries have been performed on 20 people, and the eyes of more than a thousand patients have been examined. Seeing the positive response from the public, another eye examination health center will be started in Velim assembly constituency informed MLA Cruz Silva.
