Goa police Arrested 04 PPERSONS detail below
CABLE BELONGED TO ELECTRICITY DEPARTMENT WHICH IS AT PRESENT DOING UNDERGROUND CABLING WORK. *
For some time, the team of Mapusa Police Station had been working on catching a gang of thieves who were seen committing offences during night time. In this regard, a special night patrolling team had been put in plain clothes to gather information on suspicious persons.
The hard work put in by the team finally bore results yesterday when last night, two persons were arrested from Carona, Aldona, Bardez, while they were in the process of stealing large volume of sophisticated underground cables which were being put by the Electricity Department.
The arrested persons have been identified as:
1. Mr. Mohammad Rehan Ali S/o Munna Ali, aged 19 years R/o Chandwado,Margao,Goa N/o Kannauj, Gursahaigang Uttar Pradesh
2. Mr. Saif Ai Kahn S/o Karim Kahn, aged 18 years R/o Zakhi Shah, Mushirwado, Colvale Bardez ,Goa.
3. Mr.Firoz Abdul Rahim Khan, aged 19 years R/o C/o Zakir Shah ,Mushirwado, Colvale, Bardez, Goa N/o Azadnagar, Nasik Maharashtra.
4. Mr.RamuNanduSoni ,aged 21 years R/o C/o Abhiraj,Kundai, Ponda, Goa N/o Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh.
In this, Mapusa Police Station has registered an offence under Cr. No. 165/2024 U/Sec. 303 (2),324 (3), 324 (5) R/w 3 (5) of BNS,2023.
Recovered Items:
Following properties have been recovered from the accused persons:
1. One Piece of black colour bunch cable measuring 5.70 mts.
2. One hacksaw frame with blade and two more Exo blades.
3. One Blue Colour Suzuki Access Scooter bearing registration No,. MH-15-HV-6964
4.18 bunches of black colour bunch cables.
5.10 bags of damaged aluminum cables.
6. Five bags of damaged cables.
7. One LPG cylinder with two gas cutter.

PSI Pandhari Chopdekar ,HC Sushant Chopdekar,PC Rajesh Kandolkar, PC AkshayPatil, PC Prakash Polekar, PC AnandRathod, PC Mahendra Chari.
Investigation of the case is in progress with PSI Yeshwant Mandrekar under supervision of PI Nikhil Palekar, SDPO, Mapusa Shri Sandesh Chodankar and overall Supervision of SP North Akshat Kaushal,IPS.

“We had been receiving information that certain thieves were involved in stealing electricity cables. Subsequently, we had put a trap and managed to arrest them. Interrogations are on-going to understand how they used to dispose off this property, and who were the beneficiaries.”
