Miramar, North Goa – July 28, 2025: Social activist Hitendra Pai has once again brought to light a serious issue, this time exposing the rampant unauthorized food business operating openly at Miramar Beach. His latest exposé reveals that unlicensed stalls and vendors are functioning in full swing, raising significant concerns about hygiene, legality, and the rule of law.
According to Pai, several vendors have set up food stalls on the beach without the necessary approvals from the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) or the local authorities. “These stalls not only operate without valid licenses, but they also pose serious risks to public health due to lack of hygiene and food safety standards,” he said.
The situation has sparked outrage among locals and legitimate business owners who claim that such illegal operations undermine fair trade and deprive the government of rightful revenue. Environmentalists have also raised concerns, warning that such activities contribute to littering and pollution of the iconic Miramar coastline.
Pai has called upon the concerned departments—including the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority, Panaji Municipal Corporation, and tourism enforcement agencies—to take immediate and strict action. He stressed that unauthorized activities of this nature not only damage Goa’s reputation as a tourist destination but also threaten the livelihoods of lawful vendors.
As of now, no official response has been issued by the authorities. However, the growing public pressure is expected to push the matter onto the agenda of local enforcement bodies in the coming days.
