Tripurari Pournima Festival to be held on 15th November 2024 at Vithalapur Sankhali Goa
Government of Goa in association with Directorate of Art & Culture, Department of Tourism, Goa Tourism Development Corporation, Department of Information & Publicity, other Government departments, Shree Dev Vithal Panchayatan Devasthan, Vithalpur Sankhali and Deepawali Utsav Samittee, a local cultural organization from Vitthalapur, Sankhali every year celebrates “Tripurari Pournima Festival” on the bank of river Valvonti at Vitthalapur, Sankhali, as a State Festival.
The main feature of the festival is the spectacular State Level Boat Competition that is held in the basin of river Valvonti. More than 50 handcrafted creative boats participating from different parts of the state are sailed in the river as a part of the boat sailing competition.
This year, the said festival will be held on Friday, 15th November 2024 from 7.00 p.m. onwards with following programmes:-
Programme details
Procession of Lord Shreekrishna,
Sailing of traditional lamps in the river Valvonti (Deepdan),
Presentation of Cultural programme (7.30 p.m.),
Palkhi Procession of Shree Vithal Rakhumai (10.30 p.m.),
Traditional Boat Show/Competition (10.30 p.m. to 12.00 midnight),
Tripurasur Vadh (11.00 p.m.).
Releasing of traditional Saranga lamps in the sky (11.05 p.m.)
Following Prizes will be sponsored by Department of Art and Culture for the winners and participants of the State Level Boat Competition

1ª Prize of Rs. 35,000/-, (Rolling Trophy by Art & Culture Minster’s Rolling trophy presented by Directorate of Art & Culture, Govt. of Goa) & certificate
2nd Prize of Rs. 30,000/-, (Rolling Trophy by Goa Tourism Development Corporation Panaji Goa) & certificate
3 Prize of Rs. 25,000/-& (Rolling Trophy by Late Vithoba Krishnaji Naik, Vitthalapur Sankhali) & certificate
4th Prize of Rs. 20,000/- & certificate
5th Prize of Rs. 15,000/- & certificate
Consolation Prizes (5 Nos.) of Rs. 8,000/- each & certificates.
Honorarium (10 selected boats) of Rs. 5,000/- each & certificates.
Participation allowance: All the remaining participants Rs. 4000/- each and certificates as approved by the judges.
